Easily standing out at the top of the hill on Fidel Castro Street, Christuskirche is the oldest Evangelical Lutheran Church in Namibia and the most famous building in the country.

Designed by Gottlieb Redecker in a basilica imitation, it has a neo-Gothic style.
Officially sanctified in 1910, it took nearly three years to build using local sandstone.

The Church was onced used to honor the peace between the warring Germans and indigenous Namibian peoples.

Inside are various plaques remembering the fallen German soldiers, yet none given to the Namibian people.
