This small dusty town is in the heart of Damaraland.

Sparsely populated, it falls short of bewitching and is really just a place to replenish your supplies, whether petrol, food or water.

It is not what the town has to offer, but rather what surrounds the town that makes it so supernatural.
The geology of the Organ Pipes, the nature of solitude, and a Petrified Forest light up the place and make the area magical.

The best way to get to the surrounding sites of Khorixas is to travel from Outjo, west along the C39 road.
However, if you are coming from the coast, Swakopmund or Walvis Bay, then venture from Omaruru, northwest on the C36, but be aware this is a main gravel road.
Drive with caution.
